We would like to thank all of our wonderful Sponsors that made this the biggest Midnight sun Shootout ever. This year the midnight Sun shootout was a great success raising money for our shooting heritage and outdoor sports here in Alaska and through out the United States. The weather was a little Cloudy on the first day of the shoot with the sun peeking in from time to time. The participants had many new and challenging targets as the staff at grouse ridge once again set up targets that challenged even our competition shooters leaving them a little humbled at times. Though all were challenged, it was two days of fun and recreation for all . This year 12 teams competed along with dignitaries at the stations that ranged from Senator Lisa Murkowski to many from the Department of Fish and Game, to ESPN Outdoors very own James A Swan PH.D. and noted author of "In Defense of Hunting" Lunch both days consisted of great Alaskan foods that included Halibut and Salmon and some potatoes that were out of this world. Put on by the folks at Alaskan Gourmet Batter. While this years event is over planning for next year is already underway and promises to be even Bigger. Stay tuned here for information on up and coming events with the Alaska Friends of NRA.
